Fantasy worlds: four series that leave the living room

Two of these series are fantasy by any definition, and two only stretch the label, so here is a shelf that needs a short disclaimer on what you are getting.

The true fantasy half

Sworn to the Queen builds its tension from a single law: touching the 22-year-old monarch means execution, and she has just posted the lowest-born guard in the castle at her door. The power runs entirely one way, and the plot knows it. Trespasser of the Sunken Court reverses the crime story, with a mortal thief caught during a relic job and kept by an elven princess when she could have had him killed. Her betrothed and her crown both become problems.

The half that stretches the word

The Nuns Took Me In has no magic and no kingdom. What it has is a storm, a remote chapel and two nuns whose hospitality departs from the rulebook, played with a wink. Under Her Armor is stranger company on this shelf, because it takes place in an office. The fantasy is the cosplay persona: a timid worker discovers that the quiet coworker near him is the online queen he follows, and has to guard her double life.

Setting expectations

Do not come here for world building on the scale of a novel. Each title runs five episodes, so a court or a realm gets sketched and then put to work. Two episodes are free and each paid one costs twelve tokens, which makes the whole shelf inexpensive to probe. The choice comes down to how seriously you want the setting taken. For stakes and swords, take the queen or the elven court. For lighter material, go to the chapel or the office. If you came for the premises alone, the spec library lets you browse beyond this shelf.
